School trip to Chester et. al.!

Created by Peter 2 years ago

We took a year nine group to Chester, around the town and to the zoo. Lovely day. We also had a trip on the canal at Llangollen , footplate view on the steam railway and a visit to a victorian school. Oops!  It went well until the teachers with the group couldn’t resist being a little ‘modern’.  Well who’d have thought it? Our victorian teacher got annoyed and clearly we hadn’t sussed that he wasn’t joking! Oh well, another of those moments we wondered how we might explain to the Head Teacher back home. No matter, Peter had the solution.....tea and cake in a local cafe whilst the youngsters enjoyed Llangollen! Peter was an immensely funny individual who kept the wheels at school turning. He joined in to so many activities and was a very good teacher. One who had time for everyone. He even took part in the staff football team against the fifth years, but with his stuff in a carrier bag at his side. He left a very large hole in the fabric of the school when he left. He was and shall continue to be missed.
